Peace Poems Competition – 22 September 2008

ISBN 978-1-905617-75-3

Monday 22nd September saw the launch of PEACE POEMS 2008 – a booklet of the winning poems submitted by children and young people in the Wales South regional poetry competition. There was a great atmosphere at Cardiff’s Temple of Peace, as more than 60 children, parents, teachers and Soroptimists from across Wales gathered for the announcement of winners and presentation of book tokens by Ann Hodgson. We were delighted to welcome Regional President Anne Dunne to present copies of the publication, hot off the press; and one of the judges, Mererid Hopwood (the only woman ever to have won  Chair, Crown and Medal at the Eisteddfod) talked inspiringly about the power of words!
